A few years back, life threw me one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever faced. I lost my retail store, my financial footing, and for a moment — my peace of mind. Not because I gave up, but because of a situation that nearly derailed everything I’d worked for.

Those were hard days — humbling days — and they tested everything I believed about perseverance and purpose.

But purpose doesn’t quit.

From the moment I started MR. TOD’S PIES, I wanted to create more than desserts. I wanted to build something that brought people together — something real, something soulful, something that stood for second chances.

And when the opportunity came to reopen in Newark, it just felt right. This city understands resilience. It’s a place that’s rebuilding and redefining itself every day — just like I had to.

So no, Newark isn’t “just another store.”
It’s a comeback, a restoration, and a reminder that good things — and good people — can rise again.
